Buildings and Grounds Committee

Like the skeleton of the human body, the work of this committee is to support the mission and ministry of the church, by caring for the concrete, physical foundation of congregational life.  Without its focus on assets and resources, there would be neither sanctuary for spiritual reflection nor space to serve the educational ministry for our efforts to do Christ’s work.

This committee manages the business affairs of the church and the care of the buildings.  It relies on members with varying expertise in law, plumbing, grounds, maintenance and organization. It oversees the use and care of church property works to support the church's mission.  It is responsible for assuring maintenance and repairs are accomplished in a professional and timely manner in accord with principles of good stewardship.

The committee reviews reports on landscaping, building concerns and business projects.  Long-term plans are to maximize the use of our building and bring them up to modern standards.  The Aesthetics committee is a sub-committee of Buildings and Grounds chaired by Carrie Besso with members Earlyne Clift, Bill Coburn, Dorrie Dodge, Jonathan Eubanks and Judy Rowan, and their work is to advise the committee on interior design and furnishings.

Meetings: The first Tuesday of the month.

Chairs, Judy Rowan, Bill Coburn; Lay Leaders:  Jerry Brosnan, and Marilyn Williams; Carrie Besso, Aesthetics.

Staff leadership: Di Pagel, Director of Education and Church Administrator
