Creation Camp—June 23-27, 2008!

This summer First Presbyterian Church is offering a Creation Camp for elementary school age children. Camp will operate from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. daily. The focus for the week is God’s good creation. Each day we will explore one of the great gifts of creation such as water, light, or the creatures of the earth and explore our responsibility to be good stewards. There will be stories, recreation and enriching activities each day! Please register by June 1, 2008. To receive a registration form, contact the church office: (510) 444-3555.

Music Camp—August 11-15, 2008

The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The focus for the week will be working together on a short musical. This camp is specifically for those children and youth interested in music and drama. Each day the campers will learn songs, staging, dramatic readings and assist with the development of props. On Friday, August 15 in the evening we hope to share the production with families. On Sunday, August during 10 a.m. worship we plan to share some of the songs with our congregation. We have invited Greg Murai, the Assistant Director of Music at Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian church to collaborate with our staff to support enriching experience for the children. Please register by June 16, 2008. To receive a registration form, contact the church office: (510) 444-3555.

Godly Play

Religious education for children five years to  5th grade, influenced by the Montessori approach to education and the ancient art of oral

storytelling, is worship based and child centered.  During the Godly Play program, Children hear  Bible stories told simply and learn how to reflect

on them in community and then respond to them,  both verbally and through the use of art media, in their own personal ways.

WOW!

This Christian based after-school program is designed for elementary age children and meets on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Through music, arts and crafts, children are provided with age appropriate ways to deepen and extend their understanding and participation in the worship life of this congregation.
